Graduate Certifications


Professional Counselor License

Students who complete a master's degree in Professional Counseling are eligible to apply to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors for a license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Marriage and Family License

Students who complete a master's degree in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Marital, Couple, and Family Counseling are eligible to apply to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists for a license to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist.

School Counseling Certification

Students who complete a master's degree in Professional Counseling with the school counseling emphasis are eligible to apply to the State Board Educator Certification for a professional certificate in school counseling.

School Psychology License

The School Psychology program prepares students for licensure by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP) as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. The School Psychology program also prepares students to apply for certification as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).

Principal Certification

Students who successfully complete the required Principal certification coursework are recommended to take the Texas Examination of Educator Standards (TExEs) for Principal. The State of Texas issues a 5-year renewable certificate to those who pass the TExES.

Superintendent Certification

Students who successfully complete the required Superintendent certification coursework are recommended to take the Texas Examination of Educator Standards (TExEs) for Superintendent. The State of Texas issues a 5-year renewable certificate to those who pass the TExES.
