We appreciate your interest in the Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP). Presently we are one of the largest departments on campus with nearly 2,600 undergraduate and graduate students and recently expanded our classroom and laboratory facilities! Our students are pursuing professional careers in Athletic Training, Exercise and Sports Science/Kinesiology, Public Health, and Recreation. Our stellar faculty provide high quality student - centered learning experiences in all of our disciplines. We also offer instruction in personal fitness and wellness classes.
HHP faculty are nationally and internationally known for their research in athletic training, exercise science, health, and recreation. Regionally, we are proud to have numerous experiential learning programs in San Marcos and throughout Texas that enable our students and faculty to meet the needs of our community while simultaneously gaining valuable learning experiences by working with youth and adults in community agencies, schools, clinics, and businesses.
The ultimate goal of our department is to enhance the quality of life for all through our teaching, research, service, and professional growth and development of our students. Please take time to navigate through our website, visit us at Jowers Center and/or follow us on, Twitter or Facebook. We welcome our alumni, friends, former faculty, and future students to come to campus and visit!
