Athletic Training Summer Camp What to Pack
What to pack/expect
PACKING CHECK-LIST:
- Bedding & pillow (for twin-sized bed)
- Toiletries and bath towel
- Items for the talent show that will help you display any talents possessed
- Comfortable and conservative clothes/shoes (We do LOTS of walking!)
- Conservative swimsuit, towels, sunscreen, and water shoes (if floating the San Marcos River)
- Water bottle or something to hold a beverage throughout the day
- Money for snacks or souvenirs
- Writing utensils
- Small school bag (if desired)
- Umbrella/Rain Jacket (just in case!)
CHECK IN/OUT:

All of these times are determined by University Housing. Once these times are received, they will be provided to campers/parents.

Times usually given within 1 week before start of camp.

We will share this ASAP for appropriate planning.

RESIDENCE HALL EXPERIENCE:

Campers are supervised 24 hours/day by Megan and counselors (Texas State Athletic Training Students)

Students are not allowed to leave the residence hall without supervision.

Set “lights out” when campers must be in own room

2-person occupancy
-
Roommate requests cannot be guaranteed.

Twin beds (Please bring own linens)

Community bath with private showers and restroom stalls (Please bring towel and toiletries)

Common space usually has TV, ping pong and/or pool table. Some have piano.

Kitchen accommodations depend on each residence hall.
Once we get more specific details, we will send out that information (usually 1 week before the start of camp)
PARKING/TRANSPORTATION

Campers are allowed to drive their own car to camp.

Please let Megan know via email once campers know they will drive, so that we can have a parking permit for your vehicle.

All other transportation is done on foot throughout the Texas State campus.

Please wear comfortable shoes/clothes.

You may want to pack an umbrella or rain jacket (just in case!)

FLOATING THE SAN MARCOS RIVER (OPTIONAL)

Conservative bathing suit

Tubing waivers required! (These will be provided in the email before camp as well as available at check-in to be signed by legal guardian or campers over 18)

For campers choosing not to float the river, a movie will be shown in a theater-style classroom.
